Milica Lopičić graduated from Kunsthochschule für Medien in Köln, and the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Belgrade. Her career has developed along two, often intertwining, tracks, between art and architecture. In relation to her background as a trained architect engineer, educated to read and recognize the potential of space, her starting point is based on researching typical architectural questions using photography and other media. She analyzes elements that were planned but never built. Her focus alights on the gap between what is planned and built. In her recent work she asks how the art market functions. By exploring the art market and the path the artwork passes through, starting from art production and ending with collection, she questions the position of institutions that make up the art world.
