WORLD-MAKING: ABOLITION GEOGRAPHY will look to some of the ways in which world-making occurs as an everyday practice of living. Through studying the concept, method, practice and so much more that is abolition geography (as Ruth Wilson Gilmore proposes), we will examine and analyse praxes, places, spaces where life is centered. During the semester, the course will introduce selected readings and artistic productions from different fields with varying media and/or formats that produce glimpses of a world otherwise. Throughout the course, students will be encouraged to engage, discuss, and intervene as a group towards developing an ongoing (group) project, putting forward and making visible questions, thoughts, reflections.
