In confronting our personal entanglement in the dynamics of teetering infrastructures this Winter Semester 2019/20 Artistic Practice II asks: What Keeps You Awake? The course “What Keeps You Awake? Urgency in Life and Art” built on the research trajectory from the Summer Semester 2019 with Artistic Practice I, “Farbenlehre: What Color is the Sacred?” and opened a space for discussion for students to develop an investigative artistic project.In addressing these questions the dialogues, production formats, and modes of exhibiting have been crucial to the ongoing process and the exhibition will transform the Halle from a working space into an exhibiting space.
The exhibition “What Keeps You Awake?” transposes these discussions from the confines of the course to the university and public, asking the audience to engage with the conversation started by the students and brought into forms of installations, video and audio works, texts, demonstrations, and talks.
