Siri Black (DE) works with analog and digital photography, film, and sound to create installations that explore the connection between state power and technology. Her focus is on the debris left behind by rapid progress, the gaps in archives, and the complexities that are hard to translate. Black lives and works in Frankfurt at Städlschule Frankfurt. She graduated (Hons) in Painting and Printmaking at the Glasgow School of Art in 2019. She was recently selected for the Collective Studio Associate, Newbridge Project, Newcastle (2023), Oct Elephant Trust Grant (2021), and the Hospitalfield Graduate Residency (2019). Recent screenings and exhibitions include Biscuit Tin, Artist’s Moving Image Festival (Screening) (2022), Embassy, Edinburgh ‘Too Little Too Late’ with Eleni Wittbrodt at Outlier, Glasgow (2019), ‘Creative Reactions’ in collaboration with PhD student Isha Maini, St. Enoch Centre, (2019), ‘Excerpts’, a group screening, CCA (2019), and ‘Roissy, just the two of us’, GY Festival (2018).
