The free cultural initiative Container 25 is a registered non-profit association in Hattendorf near Wolfsberg, which sees itself as a socio-political and cultural project.
The association was founded in 2009 and has settled in an old flour mill in Hattendorf. Away from tradition and mass culture, it tries to promote forms of art and culture that are critical of society and power.
The initiative wants to offer space for exchange and discussion about prevailing values and norms of the majority culture and is not afraid to openly question them. One focus of the association is a reflective reappraisal of Carinthian-Slovenian history and National Socialism in the Lavant Valley, Carinthia/Koroska and Austria, as well as conveying that and how history continues to have an effect in different facets.
